Welcome and please explore the website I have created to display the research and work I have done with the Sleeper Collection. When I first started volunteering in Asbury University's Archives and Special Collections during junior year, I never dreamed that it would turn into an independent study for two semesters, then become a career choice. In the summer of 2013 I had just finished an amazing and awesome internship at Old Sturbridge Village a living history museum, so I was very pleased to use my experience when conducting research about the Sleeper and Booth families. Towards the end of my senior year, Suzanne Gehring, Head of Archives and Special Collections, and I were invited to the KLA Joint Spring Conference to present. Most of the website is based off of that presentation and the research leading up to and after the presentation. Today I am thankful that I can use my love of history and working in a library by helping people. ~ Ruth Slagle
Talking with some friends about the Sleeper Collection in Asbury Archives.
At Old Sturbridge Village I am spinning on a Walking Wool Wheel. I loved my time there. I felt quite at home dressing in the 1830s fashion.
